The protection of personal and confidential data is at the forefront of the cooperation between Generali Versicherung, Austria’s third-largest insurance group, and Radar Cyber Security, Europe’s leading technology company in the field of Detection & Response. “RiskCheckIT” – the new offering provides SMEs with an up-to-date assessment of their cyber security situation.

Freelancers, self-employed professionals and small and medium-sized enterprises all rely on digitisation and new technologies in their daily business operations. But this also increases the vulnerability and the risk of cyberattacks on their IT security. Generali and Radar Cyber Security support the detection of cyber threats and at the same time offer solutions for IT security.

RiskCheckIT is a central component for identifying possible IT risks and taking the right preventive measures against possible cyberattacks. It is an essential component of Generali’s comprehensive electronics insurance and includes, among other things:

– Online risk questionnaire to assess the status quo of IT security

– Installation of the RiskCheckIT software including scan of possible IT risk areas

– Monthly audit reports on the security status of IT security available via the RiskCheckIT portal within the Generali customer portal

– Proposals for improving IT security in the event of a negative test report

Harald Reisinger, CEO Radar Cyber Security: „Both technical and organizational factors that make corporate IT more secure are examined within the framework of RiskCheckIT. Existing risks are assessed, evaluated and presented in order of priority. In addition, further information and instructions are given on how to eliminate identified risks. The result is an expert assessment of the current level of protection of corporate IT.

Walter Kupec, Chief Insurance Officer Property/Casualty of Generali Insurance: „For the first time RiskCheckIT provides small and medium-sized enterprises with a comprehensive IT risk assessment in an uncomplicated procedure and results that are presented clearly and comprehensibly. Necessary measures to eliminate the identified vulnerabilities are initiated immediately. In doing so, many damages can be avoided in advance by taking the right precautionary measures. With this approach, Generali supports enterprises to protect themselves and to prepare themselves for possible cyber attacks. The most effective cyber solution is to considerably reduce the likelihood of loss occurrence.“

RiskCheckIT is designed for SMEs with one or more employees. The RiskCheckIT portal is accessible via the Generali customer portal. The monthly audit reports and suggestions for improving IT security are available online.
